As a twenty-something single mother of one, getting a will done seemed like a wise thing to do, but it always seemed to end up at the bottom of my "to-do" list. Excuses were easy to come by. I would convince myself that I was young and healthy, and that the money it would cost me could be used for other things. Then I met Michael.

Michael was so genuinely concerned with my son's future that I realized I should be doubly concerned. He asked simple questions like, "Who will raise Jack if something should happen to you?" I, of course, had an answer, but what good was my response if I did not document my instructions for the loved ones I left behind?

Discussing our demise is a difficult subject but Michael's compassion made the process so much easier. I had never realized how many issues needed to be addressed, and how many pitfalls my family could encounter with tax or custody issues. I am confident that Michael left nothing uncovered. My wishes were clearly stated, regarding organ donation, funeral services, life insurance and property distribution. Most importantly, however, I was able to express my hopes and plans for my precious son

Having my will, and my living trust in place has brought me indescribable peace. Instead of having fear of what will happen if I am not around, I have freedom. I actually feel more secure as a parent, because there will be no unanswered questions about what I would like done. I am also comforted by the fact, that the kindness Michael showed me during the process, and since, will be given to the most important people in my life, if anything should happen to me. The comfort that gives me is priceless.
